Swimming with the Jellies

This morning we motored out of the yacht harbor and headed over to George Dog for some snorkeling. We all got our gear on and jumped into the water, we were enjoying the fish and coral when Nick spotted a golf ball size jellyfish floating right in front of him. They were so small and transparent that they were hard to see but when we started looking, we realized that they were all around us. They didn't seem to be stinging but we headed away from them anyway and continued snorkeling.

Fish highlights included a yellow ray, pipe fish, sargent majors, bar jacks, yellow jacks and butterfly fish. Other highlights were a pink annenome, pin cushions and purple tube sponges.

After lunch on the boat, we prepared for a fast sail to North Sound in heavy winds but discovered that the main halyard had detached and was at the top of the mast. We motored into the sound, picked up a mooring and headed to shore for cocktails and appetizers.

Stay tuned...someone will have to be hauled to the top of the mast to retrieve the halyard later tonight or maybe in the morning, the wind is still howling!

All of Us

Naan Believers

Titled By "The Boys"
Tonight we enjoyed our shore showers, got dressed up in our best clothes and drove to Rosewood Resort's Little Dix for the buffet. Once again, the spread was impressive and we enjoyed it all! Shannon even tried some seafood.
Our 14-15 year old boys thoroughly enjoyed the lavish buffet tonight, their mantra was take a lap, eat some Naan bread and get another plate. Carter and Nick had 5 platefuls and Griffin had 4. Favorites included the Naan Bread, ribs, lobster, mussels and the dessert table. They are now looking forward to getting back to the boat and into their sweatpants.

Britton's favorites were the Naan bread and the chocolate mousse. We all enjoyed watching them make the Naan bread, they rolled out the dough fresh and placed it on the inside of a coal-heated terra cotta kiln to bake then finished it with butter.
Alternate titles; Naan Solves All, Does One Dessert Count as Round 5?, I Will Try One Bite of Seafood, Don't Come Crying to Me, and Let's Roll on Out of Here.

4 Little Monkeys...

1 little monkey standing on the rock, he jumped off and all were lost!

4 little monkeys playing in the sun, all day long...fun, fun, fun!

The Baths

All 8 of us packed into our rented Suzuki and drove on the left side of the road to the Baths. We explored the gigantic boulders and hiked over to Devils Bay for a relaxing swim. The kids posed for pictures in all of our favorite places and discovered many new places that Nick deemed "PHOTO, wait for it....WORTHY!"

Stormy Morning

Storms popped up overnight forcing us from our beds to close the hatches. John monitored the weather and after breakfast, we headed out across the way to Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor for an afternoon of adventure and night of fine dining.

Marina Cay Snorkeling

We went for a nice snorkel this afternoon at Marina Cay. We saw lots of fish and coral, and John got great underwater footage on the GoPro.

Carter; I accidentally inhaled some seawater, saw a rainbow fish and saw Dory.

Nick; it was good to be back underwater, I was excited to see a pufferfish it was fat and spotted.

Griffin; it was a water-filled day; I saw a pipe fish and my shower wouldn't drain so I almost went snorkeling again.

Britton; I kept thinking that I saw poisonous fish, swallowed some seawater, but overall it was very pretty and fishy. Shoutout to my fishy cup back home! You will never be replaced!!!!
