According the us, Monkey Point was named because that's where pirates went to bury their monkeys. In the hierarchy of monkeydom the king monkeys were buried with treasure while the regular monkeys were buried with none. The queen monkeys were buried with the biggest booty of all. If you get too close to monkey point the monkey ghosts may jump onto your boat which is what happened to us. Shannon felt the monkey ghost on her shoulder before it jumped onto her head. It was actually just a rope flopping around...or was it?
